Shareridge Events for International Men’s Health Week 2024

June 10th – 16th, 2024: “Know Your Numbers – Men’s Health Counts”

Shareridge is proud to participate in International Men’s Health Week (MHW) from June 10th to June 16th, 2024. This year, the theme in Ireland is ‘Know your Numbers’, emphasising the crucial message that ‘men’s health counts’. Our aim is to raise awareness about preventable health issues, promote healthier lifestyle choices, and encourage early detection and treatment of health difficulties in males.

We organised a series of engaging events to support these goals:

Monday, 10th June:
Monday Blues – Let’s Talk About Mental Health Awareness

Kickstarting the week, we focused on mental health, breaking the stigma around discussing mental health issues. Experts shared valuable insights, and participants had the opportunity to engage in meaningful conversations about mental well-being.

Tuesday, 11th June:
Choose-Day – We Explore the Benefits of Healthy Eating

Healthy eating is fundamental to maintaining good health. On this day, we explored nutritious diets, shared healthy recipes, and discussed the long-term benefits of making healthier food choices.

Wednesday, 12th June:
Workout Wednesday – The Importance of Exercise

Physical activity is a cornerstone of good health. Participants enjoyed a variety of fitness sessions and learned about the benefits of regular exercise, including improved physical and mental health.

Thursday, 13th June:
Thirsty Thursday – Alcohol and Drug Use Awareness

This day was dedicated to raising awareness about the impact of alcohol and drug use on health. Through informative sessions, we discussed the risks associated with substance abuse and strategies for making healthier choices.

Friday, 14th June:
Find the Time Friday – The Importance of Looking After Your General Health and Seeking Professional Help

We wrapped up the week by emphasising the importance of regular health check-ups and seeking professional medical advice. Participants learned about various health screenings and the benefits of early detection and treatment.

Our events were held both in person across the the country at various sites and offices and also online, ensuring accessibility for all.

By engaging in these activities, we aim to empower men and boys to take charge of their health and make informed decisions that lead to healthier lives.
