Shareridge Civil Engineering is proud to announce the successful completion of the new Rockmount reservoir, a project awarded to us by Uisce Eireann – Irish Water. The reservoir is now fully operational, marking a significant enhancement to the water infrastructure in West Clare.
Project Overview
The Rockmount reservoir was a crucial development aimed at improving the reliability and safety of the water supply for the region. This project was part of a broader initiative to bolster the water infrastructure in West Clare, ensuring that residents have access to a secure and reliable source of drinking water.
Key Benefits
•Enhanced Water Security: The new Rockmount reservoir provides a two-day reserve supply of water, significantly reducing the impact of any potential watermain bursts.
•Improved Infrastructure: This project followed the successful replacement of a 4.5km watermain between Mullagh and Miltown, which improved water reliability for local residents.
•Minimized Disruptions: Upgrades to the Glendine Group Water Scheme, including valve replacements, further minimized the risk of supply disruptions for customers who previously faced frequent service interruptions.
Community Impact
The delivery of the new Rockmount reservoir strengthened the local water infrastructure and provided a two-day reserve in the event of any watermain bursts. The efforts of Clare County Council’s water services staff and the engineering team at the West Clare Municipal District were instrumental in improving and securing water supplies for the community.
